The Giver is a dystopian young adult novel set in a seemingly perfect society where pain, conflict, and choice have been eliminated through strict control and sameness. The story follows Jonas, a twelve-year-old boy who is selected to become the community’s Receiver of Memory, the only person allowed to hold memories of the past. As Jonas receives memories of color, love, joy, and suffering from the Giver, he begins to realize the cost of his society’s “perfection.” Confronted with difficult truths about freedom, emotion, and humanity, Jonas must decide whether obedience is worth the loss of real life and meaningful choice.

In this fractured fairytale, Captain Hook and Prince John discover that they are secretly brothers living in separate fairytale worlds. The lights rise on a beautiful sunset. A mermaid is silhouetted against an ocean backdrop. Hauntingly familiar music fills the air... Then the Lawyer shows up -- and that's when the fun really begins. The Little Mermaid (More or Less.) is the story of a theatre company attempting to stage a children's version of the Hans Christian Anderson classic. The only problem? It looks and sounds an awful lot like a movie of the same name. That's when the Lawyer for a certain "mouse-eared company" starts talking about a possible lawsuit for copyright infringement. Lawsuit? Copyright infringement? Throw out the costumes! There's a bunch of old rags backstage from the 1970's. Well, don't just stand there! Go get them! Ditch the music! What did you say? Somebody's mom has a greatest disco hits CD out in the car? That'll be perfect! Change everyone's names! Tartar Sauce! Little M.! The Crab Formerly Known As Sebastian! Everybody ready? Ok, action! It's the funkiest version of The Little Mermaid ever seen on stage! Your student must bring their lunch every day. Performances will be on 7/31 at 7pm and 8/1 at 10am. 20 spots available.

Give that special someone a memorable experience! Looking for something unique? Consider giving the gift of growth. It has been said
that “theatre is the house of life. It is not this thing or that thing, but rather it can be anything.” Through the vehicle of theatre, we cannot hope to be everything, but we can be something — something special, specific, and significant.
