Readthrough: 7/13 4pm-6pm Main Themes: Turns of Heart, Teen Angst, Yearning for Future Genre: Comedy At Saw Mill Public High School, the late bus picks students up at 6:30 p.m. It just never comes on time. Over the course of a school week, we meet Saw Mill High’s collection of mavericks and misfits with no other way to get home: the chaotic valedictorian, the big-brained transfer, the detention heads, the band geeks, the athlete, the anxious ones, and the one quietly observing it all. With some magical music, vicious rumors, breakups, and more than one breakdown, Late Bus is a close look at what it means to be in high school in our messy world. Together, this group of teens in a hurry to grow up might just learn a little bit more about what it means to be here, now. Your student must bring their dinner every day. Shows will be on 8/1 at 7pm and 8/2 at 10am. 11 spots available. -

Show Choir Camp
$70.00
Select optionsA very popular competitive high school activity, show choir truly captures the art of performance by incorporating singing, dancing, and acting!
Students will participate in a three-day workshop that introduces them to show choir and allows them to learn a "mini" set consisting of an opener and closer with dancing and a ballad in between. They will learn music in parts with harmonies as well as intermediate level choreography that advances their dance skills. Along with song and dance, a show choir set should also tell a story. Students will get to engage their creative side by helping come up with costume and acting ideas that better convey the story of the songs. At the end of the three days, there will be a showcase open to the public where the students can show off all of their hard work and perform their set! 15 spots available. -

$65.00
Select optionsOpen Tents are a perfect opportunity to expand your skill set and give an opportunity to learn new circus acts.
This season, Open Tents are also the only way to meet the prerequisite for the Circus Spectacular. There has been a significant change made in regard to participating in the Circus Spectacular and changes made to the way that Circus Spectacular will be rehearsed.
-
Circus Spectacular will be open to grade 3 and above. Students in K-2 will still have the opportunity to join in the fun by signing up for our Jr Joey Jamboree class in the fall. This class will perform a pre-show routine on the day of the Circus.
-
Before attending Open Tents, you will fill out a self-evaluation form which tells us what your main interests are, where you are at in terms of skill level, and what acts you would like to try. Filling out this form indicates to us that you would like to be evaluated to participate in the Circus Spectacular. Without this form, you will not be evaluated and will not receive an invitation to perform.
-
There are 4 open tent dates set throughout the summer. You must attend at least 2 of the 4 open tents in order to meet the prerequisite. During these Open Tents, you will be given instruction and guidance on your desired interest, as well as evaluated on your skill-set by our staff.
-
There will not be a traditional sign up for the Circus Spectacular. If you meet the prerequisites and meet and/or exceed the safety standards during evaluations for the acts in which you would be placed, you will be invited to perform in the Circus. If selected to be a performer in the upcoming Circus Spectacular, you will be placed into two groups for Circus Spectacular; Intermediate or Advanced, based on your interest form/self-evaluation and evaluation by the instructors. You will then be sent a link to sign up to perform in the Circus Spectacular.
-
Once Circus Spectacular begins rehearsing (7/27), the Intermediate and Advanced groups will rehearse on separate days in order to spend more time mastering their skills. While we will be rehearsing separately, we will be performing Circus Spectacular together as always. Circus Spectacular will be on 9/21 this year.
